Completely incomplete.
Your mind is completely incomplete. On the one hand, perfect and finished and on the other hand still growing and always stumbling (For more on this, see my post on how failure can teach you to do pretty much anything).
My teenager thinks slow. He is not slow, it’s just that his brain fires slowly because so much is going on up there. His brain is full, so it takes a little while for things to begin to flow. Your brain is like a teenager – complete and finished, yet unfinished.
Your mind might experience anxiety, depression, panic, fixations, compulsions or a host of other mental situations. (If you want a more technical term, these are cognitive and affective experiences). Mental health and addiction are being completely incomplete.
You know enough, yet you need to learn more. Both are true.
Some days you may find yourself running but uncertain of where you are going. Thoughts, temptations, and triggers may fill your mind. When you cannot change your mind, forget it all by beginning again. How do you begin again? Begin to move. When you move, you are where you need to be.

Call it Zen, call it Yoda, or call it Jesus. (This sounds like the beginning of a bad joke). Call it whatever you want, but just know that you and I are completely incomplete. Gloriously messed up.
You are hanging by this moment and what you can do is begin. You may begin badly or you may start poorly. Just begin.
You begin by letting go, strange but true. Just begin.
You begin by forgetting. Forget what is behind, forget what you have held onto and live your life. Just begin.
You begin by standing, until you move. Just begin.
Forget what you are lacking, because does it really matter? After all, you have glory in you. Some call it stardust, others call it a soul. Who cares? You are gloriously messed up. Completely incomplete.
Some days you may find yourself running but uncertain of where you are going. Thoughts, temptations, and triggers may fill your mind. When you cannot change your mind, forget it all by beginning again. How do you begin again? Begin to move. When you move, you are where you need to be.
This post is inspired by the song Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse. The song with lyrics is at the end of this post. Today, I hope that you will take a moment and just hang. Forget what you lack, be who you are: completely incomplete.

Very interesting perspective. I found your post with the tag “beginners mind” – a zen philosophy -it refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions
